The Acting Rector, Mr. Ogundahunsi, Gani Adebola has called for the cooperation and understanding of the entire workforce in order to make a difference in the Institution. He made this call during his inaugural meeting with members of the Board of Studies (BOS), the highest academic body in the Institution on Wednesday, 26th September, 2018.
Mr. Ogundahunsi said his vision, which is in tandem with that of the Governing Council, is to reposition, re-engineer and rebrand Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo so as to rank her among the best globally. Stressing the need for team-spirit, he said every team has a leader and that the vision provided by the leader is the compass without which chaos, commotion, rot and stagnation, among others hold sway.
As a team Leader in the capacity of Acting Rector at these most challenging times in the history of the Institution, he said this is a call to duty and that with the cooperation and understanding of all members of staff, the new team would make a difference.
While promising to lead by example, the Acting Rector called on members of staff to imbibe principles of discipline, hard work, availability, fairness and accountability. He noted that a disciplined leader has a disciplined followership and that with justice and fairness come peace.
He expressed displeasure at the spate of extortion, exploitation, harassment of students, laziness, lethargy and absenteeism and vowed to tackle this menace headlong.
Mr. Ogundahunsi stressed that Academic culture shall be strengthened, the present tempo of staff welfare shall be sustained and improved upon while also stating that accreditation and reaccreditation of courses shall be addressed with vigour.
He commended members of staff for their faith, high spirit and resilience despite'the traumatic experiences of the past which according to him the Institution is just trying to put behind. He assured that from all indications, the morning of joy is here and urged that they should start afresh so as to continue to enjoy Government's goodwill.
"As we begin to think anew and act aright, we can be sure it is only right things that will dot our paths in unimaginable proportions", he noted.
He thanked His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, and the Governing Council of the Institution, particularly the Honorable Chairman, Barrister Banji r. Alabi- an indefatigable goal-getter for the opportunity given to him to serve at this capacity.

The Governing Council of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, has approved the appointment of Dr. (Engr) Samuel Alagha, a chief lecturer in the department of Agricultural and Bio-Environmental Engineering Technology as the new Deputy Rector of the Institution.
