The Acting Rector, Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, Mr. Gani Ogundahunsi, with the Management, have been commended by the Governor of Ondo State for the prudent use of intervention fund made available to the Institution.
He noted Mr. Acting Rector and your Management, we want to commend your diligence. We want to commend you for your commitment.
His Excellency, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu, gave this commendation on Saturday, 23rd March, 2019 while speaking at the Rufus Giwa Polytechnic Alumni Association’s launching of 250 Million Naira endowment fund for the construction of 150 bed space ultramodern in the Institution.
Arakunrin particularly praised the Acting Rector, saying, he was aware of his efforts and diligence since he assumed duty as the Acting Rector and that he was impressed with the way he has been handling the affairs of the Polytechnic. We see what you are doing here. You are doing well! ;, he remarked.
The Governor also praised the Management and staff of the Polytechnic for their hard work. At this juncture, let me on behalf of students, government of this state commend the Management and staff of this Institution for your hard work . He particularly commended the Council and Management of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo for making judicious and prudent use of the intervention fund his government recently released to the Institution.
The Visitor to the Institution, Arakunrin Akeredolu also expressed his delight in the various ongoing projects in the Institution which described as very impressive. He encouraged the Management to embark on more projects saying he would be very proud to see those projects when they are completed.
Speaking further, the Governor said, One of the aims of this administration is to prepare students of tertiary institution that will meet the manpower need of the society and contribute positively to the overall development of the nation and this crop of students can only come from the Polytechnic. He therefore charged students of the Polytechnic not to take their education for granted but take their studies seriously. He said this is because they are very important to the development of the state and the country at large. He explained that Nigeria is a developing nation and only polytechnic education can make a nation progress.
Earlier in his address, the Acting Rector, Mr. Gani Ogundahunsi thanked the Institutions proprietor and Visitor for touching Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo in an unprecedented positive way. He also appreciated the Governor for coming in person to add colour and value to the event.
